About Me

Andrew Tubbs

Hi, I'm Andrew and I live in Liss Forest, Hampshire, UK.

I trained in art and design at Bishop Otter College in Chichester before starting a long career in education starting as a teacher in secondary schools. I subsequently moved into school leadership and management and from there in to education management at local authority level. I finished my education career as a chief officer for education in West Berkshire.

I have always enjoyed painting land and seascapes. Through my paintings I try to capture everything I like about the places and things I love or find inspiring . I work in a range of media including acrylic paints and inks, oils and pastels.

Over the past few years I have also been experimenting with using an iPAD to produce paintings. I now keep my on-going sketchbook on my iPAD using Paper53 and often produce digital paintings using ArtSetPro which I then add finishing touches to by hand using acrylics.

My paintings are for sale and also include high quality limited edition prints and art greetings cards. I undertake special commissions for land or seascapes. I also give talks, demonstrations and run day workshops.

A favourite interest has always been in the theatre which started when I was at school. Much of my spare time in the past has been taken up with designing and painting stage scenery for many of the local theatrical societies. If you have been to shows at The Festival Hall, Petersfield then you will almost certainly have seen some of my work on the stage. You can see some examples in my Stage Sets Gallery.
